KY in September

Here the kids are all set to jump in the car and go home from Grammy's house. We are so lucky to have the family support during this difficult time after Dad's accident. Thank you to everyone who came to the memorial. I am heading up again this morning. This time via airplane. I am looking forward to spending some down time with Ben, Charlie and Mom. If you are reading this, treasure your time with your family this Thanksgiving. Check out our web albums for our latest pictures including our trip to the pumpkin patch and trick-or-treating

Honeywell Open House

Last Saturday Honeywell had an open house for all employees and families. Mel and the kids had never seen the inside of my work before or any of the campus so it was cool to be able to show them. I'm not sure what they thought of my office or the lab areas that they did see, but I was happy to show them around. They probably think I'm a bigger geek now than ever!

Emily in Bumble Bee car

Emily has figured out how to go in and out of the doggie door and the first thing she runs to is her Bumble Bee car.

Emily vs Popsicle

It is popsicle nite and Emily couldn't be happier. Orange is her favorite. We just found out that the puppies will be 'fixed' next friday and out at the adoption sites that weekend. Its exciting to reclaim the kids playroom even though we know it will be hard for the kids to let them go. Mel just finished painting the play room. One room down and the rest of the house to go!

Halloween

Cutie bug was a pink Minnie Mouse for her 1st Halloween.

Sleepy babe

I would love to be able to fall asleep wherever whenever!

Christmas Morning

Emily was more of a spectator for her 1st Christmas. She opened a few small gifts from her stocking while her brother's "assisted" with the opening of her larger gifts!

Chris and Grandpa

During Christmas grandpa and I setup an oval HO Train under the tree. Chris was so mesmerized by it that he fell asleep in that very same position with his head on the tile. It prompted the purchase of our own Christmas train. Although it wasn't HO, it was bigger and noisier. Both of which our boys thought were quite agreeable traits for our train to have.

puppies, puppies, everywhere

This is our first post in awhile. Christmas has passed us by and we didn't think our lives were crazy enough. So when Maureen called and said that Pima County Animal Control didn't have any room at the inn for this beautiful Black lab and her 9 pups we had to find a way to help out.

We just finished 're-bunking' the kids beds into one room the weekend before the call. The idea was to use the other room as a play room. However, with this new undertaking, it has turned into the puppy room!

Pictured right is Raven and her pups, Rayanne, Randy, Ralphie, Rafiki, Ramona, Rachel, Racquel, Rayna, Raisin, during one of many feeding times. The whole family is chipping in with the puppies. We have to weight them everyday and bottle feed a couple when they don't seem to be gaining enough weight. Maureen works with FAIR, Foundation for Animals In Risk. The Foundation for Animals in Risk is a non-profit, no-kill animal rescue organization. More info on FAIR can be found on their website (link above). FAIR is providing all the food, check-ups, spay/neutering, and adoption services for the pups and momma. So far so good. Our other dog Cocoa has been more accommodating than we expected. And we hope that Raven and Cocoa will continue to get along.
